Grief/Loss

There are different types of grief, such as acute grief, which is the intense and immediate reaction to a loss; chronic grief, which is the prolonged and persistent sorrow that lasts for many years; and complicated grief, which is a severe and debilitating distress that greatly interferes with daily functioning and healing. There are also many types of loss - death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a pet, loss of a career, "empty nest" syndrome, loss of previous good health, and more.

Please know that you do not have to struggle alone with grief. Seeking therapy can be a helpful way to cope with grief and find meaning and purpose after a loss. Therapy provides a supportive space to process your loss, explore your emotions, and learn coping skills to help manage your grief. Therapy can also help you identify and address any factors that may complicate your grief, such as trauma, guilt, anger, depression, or anxiety.  In therapy, I can help you process your grief by listening empathically and validating your feelings. We will explore your feelings of loss, talk about memories, and discuss ways to care for yourself as you begin to move

forward.
